Dailyish is built with privacy as a default. This page describes what data the app handles and why.
Data we collect
None. Dailyish does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information. We have no servers, no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no tracking.
Data stored on your device
The app stores the habits you create, your completion history, the notes and daily mood check-ins you log, and any progress photos you attach to a completion. This data lives in two places:
- On your device, in Apple's local SwiftData store.
- In your private iCloud account, if you are signed into iCloud and have iCloud Drive enabled. Apple syncs this data between your own devices using end-to-end encryption. We never have access to it.
If you sign out of iCloud or disable iCloud for Dailyish, the app continues to work locally and stops syncing.
Progress photos
You can optionally attach a photo to any completion. Photos are chosen through Apple's system photo picker, which gives the app only the single image you pick — Dailyish never gains access to your photo library. A photo you attach is stored with that completion and synced through your private iCloud just like the rest of your data. It is never sent to us or to any third party. Remove a photo any time by editing the completion, or delete the habit to remove its photos.
Notifications
If you enable reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device using iOS's notification system. These notifications never leave your device. You can revoke notification permission at any time in iOS Settings.
Apple Health
If you turn on Sync with Apple Health in Settings → Health (it is off by default), Dailyish reads a small amount of Health data only with your permission and only to automatically check off matching habits — for example marking a "Walk", "Workout", or "Meditate" habit done once your day's activity meets its goal. Specifically:
- Dailyish reads step count, workouts, and mindful minutes for the current day.
- This is read-only — Dailyish never writes to or changes your Health data.
- The data is used entirely on your device. The raw health values are never stored by the app and are never transmitted to us or to any third party. Only the resulting habit completion (a simple checkmark) is saved, just like any habit you tap yourself.
- Health data is never used for advertising, marketing, or any purpose other than completing your habits.
You can turn this off at any time inside the app, or revoke access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Dailyish.
On-device intelligence
Several features use intelligence that runs entirely on your device — nothing you type, log, or photograph for these features is ever sent to us or to any server:
- Weekly recap — a short written summary of your week, generated from your own completion counts.
- Quick add from a description — turning text like "run 3× a week at 6pm" into a habit.
- Icon & category suggestions — based on a habit's name.
- Note patterns — summarizing themes across the notes you attach to completions.
- Scan a list — reading a photo of a written list with Apple's on-device Vision framework, then turning the text into habits. The photo and recognized text stay on your device.
- Smarter reminders — wording an occasional reminder more personally.
- Coach — a chat where you can ask questions about your own habits. Your question and the summary of your habits it is answered from are processed on your device; the conversation is never sent to us or any server.
These run using Apple's on-device Foundation Models and Vision frameworks. They are available only on devices that support Apple Intelligence, and you can turn them all off at any time in Settings → Intelligence inside the app. No data leaves your device for any of these computations, and there is no per-use cost.
Exporting and sharing your data
You are always in control of getting your data out. You can export a full JSON backup or a CSV of your completion history, and you can share a routine template — habit names, schedules, and icons only, with no completion history, notes, mood, or photos. These files are created on your device and only ever leave it if you choose to share or save them somewhere through the iOS share sheet. Dailyish never uploads them anywhere.
Third-party services
Dailyish does not use any third-party SDKs, analytics, advertising networks, or external services. The only system services it relies on are Apple's on-device technologies — iCloud / CloudKit for sync, Apple Health (read-only, opt-in) as described above, and the on-device Foundation Models and Vision frameworks — all governed by Apple's privacy policy. None of the intelligence features call out to a remote AI service.
Children
The app does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13.
Account deletion
Because there is no account system, there is nothing for us to delete. To remove your data:
- Open Dailyish → Settings → Delete All Habits to wipe all habits and history. If iCloud sync is active, the deletion propagates to your other devices.
- Or delete the app from your device. To also remove the iCloud copy, go to iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Dailyish → Delete Data.
