Common questions
Why aren't my habits syncing across devices?
Sync uses your private iCloud account. Make sure:
- You are signed in to the same iCloud account on both devices.
- iCloud Drive is enabled on both devices (iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud).
- Dailyish is enabled in your iCloud app list.
Sync can take a few minutes after a change. The home screen shows a banner when sync is paused.
Why aren't reminders firing?
Open Dailyish → Settings → check that Reminders is "Allowed". If it says "Denied", tap "Open System Settings" and enable notifications for Dailyish.
Note: if you've already completed a habit for today, Dailyish will skip its remaining reminders for that day — that's intentional.
How does habit stacking work?
When you edit a habit, you can set it to come after another habit. The stacked habit's reminders wait until the parent is checked off that day. On the home screen, it shows up with an "After [parent]" hint until the parent is done, then switches to "Next up".
How do smart reminder times work?
Once a habit has at least seven completions, Dailyish looks at the median hour-of-day you've actually been finishing it. If that's meaningfully earlier than your scheduled reminder, the habit's detail screen offers a one-tap "move my reminder" suggestion. All on-device — no data leaves your phone.
What are the on-device intelligence features?
On supported devices, Dailyish adds a few helpers that run entirely on your phone using Apple's on-device Foundation Models and Vision frameworks:
- Weekly recap — a short written summary on the Weekly Review screen.
- Quick add — type a description like "meditate 10 min every weekday at 7am" when creating a habit and it fills in the details.
- Icon & category suggestions — tap "Suggest an icon & category" in the habit form.
- Note patterns — open a habit with a few completion notes and tap "Find patterns".
- Suggest habits & Scan a list — from the + button on the Habits tab.
- Smarter nudges — occasional reminder wording tailored to habits you're slipping on.
Nothing you type or photograph for these features is ever sent to a server, and there's no per-use cost.
Why don't I see the intelligence features?
They appear only on devices that support Apple Intelligence and have it enabled (iOS 26 or later on a supported iPhone or iPad). If your device doesn't support it, Dailyish quietly hides these options and everything else works exactly as before. You can also turn them off yourself in Settings → Intelligence.
How do I delete a habit?
Swipe left on a habit in the home list, or open the habit's detail view and tap the trash icon. You can also bulk-manage habits via Settings → Manage Habits.
How do I delete all my data?
Settings → Delete All Habits. To also remove the iCloud copy, go to iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Dailyish → Delete Data.
Can I export or import my data?
Yes — Settings → Export Data creates a JSON file with all your habits and completion history. You can save it to Files, email it, or send it anywhere. Settings → Import Data restores from that file (duplicates are detected by ID, so re-importing the same file is safe).
Why is the streak not what I expect?
Streaks count consecutive completed scheduled days. If today is scheduled and you haven't completed it yet, today is "forgiven" and the streak still includes prior days. One missed scheduled day per week is also forgiven — the freeze regenerates each week.
